Route L

Route L (also spelled as Route:L) is a fictional band in the animanga series Full Moon wo Sagashite by Arina Tanemura. The band consisted of Kira Takuto, the future shinigami, youngest member of the band, and its' vocalist; Wakaouji Keiichi, Mitsuki's doctor and the keyboardist; and finally Koga Aoi, Mitsuki's father and the guitarist. The band refused to appear on TV and apparently didn't like publicity very much. Despite that, they were very popular and had many fans at one point. Their hit song was called Eternal Snow. Full Moon and Wakamatsu Madoka made a remake of the said song, releasing it on the same date. Route L disbanded after Aoi and his girlfriend eloped and died in an accident (more here). After this, Keiichi pursued a career as a doctor, and Takuto tried a solo career. He wasn't as popular as Route L altogether, but he was successful enough. The death of Takuto in the anime and manga are different (more here), both being very tragic. It was very unfortunate Route L had to end in such cataclysmic way.
