Website & Technical Miscellany

Seize the Night was a project started on November 2008, though due to my excellent resistance to procrastination, was opened to the public over two months later on January 2009. It is still a work in progress, with some sections left to be worked on. I'm a big overachiever, I know.

The thought of building a fansite—though I like to define it as an 'online confession of love'—for Takuto had always been in the back of my mind throughout all my years worth of venturing in webdesign. Admittedly though, never have I felt an absolute need to go ahead with my ideas, as there were already a number of capable, FMwS-dedicated websites out there. However, as more and more closed, I decided it was time to take action. The final contribution to my decision was Danielle's transfer of Takuto's fanlisting to me. This, I still consider a miracle.

I'm proud to be able to call myself a long-time fan of Takuto; it started a couple of years ago, with a DVD box set of Full Moon wo Sagashite anime. Upon watching more and more of this adorable kitty costume-clad soul 'god of death', it didn't take long until I proclaimed my love for him. In a frenzy, I scoured the deepest crevices of the internets for whatever scanlations of the original manga I could find (the solid copies are out of my budget, sadly). And the love just grew and grew and grew; hasn't changed since. :)

I'm sure most visitors will be familiar with the phrase 'carpe diem', a Latin phrase that can roughly be translated as 'seize the day'; in turn, 'day' can be translated to 'life'. The phrase can be interpreted into some very sage advice: take opportunities as they come. Make the best of what you have, as time is short. However, Takuto doesn't exactly follow. After taking his own life out of anguish, his existence was extended as a 'god of death'. And with this second chance, he is seizing not his life, but his death. He is 'seizing the night'. Clever? I know.

Two excellent programs with which I make fancy things like this are Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Notepad. The biggest of thank yous goes out to Danielle of Hoshichan.com and many other wonderful little pieces of the internet; thank you for being so generous and patient with me. ♥
